Problem
Jim had a total of 5 alcohol convictions. He had 2 previous relapses, was diagnosed as an alcoholic and was no longer going to AA. He needed his license to get to and from work.
Result
On Jim’s behalf, I submitted a favorable substance evaluation and addendum, negative drug screen, and 6 very strong letters of support. I argued that, given Jim’s strong support network, he was not likely to relapse and therefore, should be granted driving privileges. The hearing officer agreed and issued Jim a driver’s license.
Bottom line
The hearing officer found the evidence and arguments convincing and issued Jim a driver’s license.
